Okay, I have been reading A LOT of info on T5's I think my head is spinning..lol.. So, me and my husband have been tossing around the idea about upgrading our lighting (tossing the idea sense today ;D). We currently have CF. But we would like to have a large verity of corals soft, lps, and sps. Not all at once thought.. I wish we could :).. One thing at a time.. Anyway, I was looking around at the T5's and I am not sure what size we would need... I was looking at one from marine depot and hear it is...

Sunlight Supply Tek Light High Output Fluorescent Lighting Fixtures

Our tank size is a 26gal bow front. Messurments are... Length: 24in Width: 12in Depth: 20in

Also, does this lighting have to hang or can we have foot mounts for it? Idealy we would like to hang it but we cant b/c we live in an apartment.. Thank you guys.. Also if any one knows of a cheeper place please share ;D..

Tek fixtures are great. They sell legs for the light or it can be hung.

That Oddysea light would probably work well, but you should measure your tank opening without the bow to make sure it will fit well. Also keep in mind that with the halide you'll have some added heat, don't know how warm your apt. gets in summer or if that could be a problem, but with T-5 it would be less of one for sure.

Whatever you end up going with, keep in mind, you must acclimate your tank to it. There are many threads on how to di this i.e. with screen over the tank, etc.

I would go Tek over knock off brands for sure..

The legs IMO are kinda cheap for the price they want for them... If it was me I would hang it and save the money.. Legs are more convient though...
