It's an Apple, it's rotten to the core.. LOL! I just can't stand Apple. They want TOTAL control of their product, which is NO longer theirs when the consumer buys it. That mind set almost put them out of business on their first round of MACs. Now same with iPods, iTunes, iPhones, & iPads.. Instead of them doing proper licenses & mfg agreements, they want total control..

Any remember Lotus 123? They sued anyone who used the Z key to bring up the Menubar. Then a judge ruled that no one can trade mark a key command & Lotus strong hold as a the only speadsheet program was done. Apple has not learned it's lesson.

I remember all of that! I also hate macs on principle. Valentina bought one and I took it as a bullet in the heart. Don't get me wrong, they have good hardware, but they're way overpriced and like I said, you can forget about an easy DIY fix, upgrades and cheap software.

I have gone through my fair share of windows based computers... Totally not worth the money at all! You spend ~400 a year on one and it's just a hunk of plastic and metal after one year, two tops if you care for it.

I have had a MacBook pro for 2.5 years now and LOVE it! It's still working amazingly and I can see that it has a few more years left in it.
Also, I run photoshop and sketch up perfectly fine on my Mac. You just have to download/purchase the Mac versions.

Given my line of work I have always had to shop from a durability & travelability standpoint. I have had very good luck with Dell's & even splurged once & had an alienware without problem.

If your talking new which I assume you are, I would checkout Best Buy as far as a purchasing location I have had nothing but good dealings with thier warranty & protection plans.

I skimmed through your thread and I did not see anyone mention Lenovo. I have been using IBMs for roughly 7 years for everything from simple word processing to extensive programming.

I am currently playing on a T61. Didn't cost much and runs well.

Have to agree, I bought the new Vaio i7, its an amazing piece of gear, I had the previous model, which i swapped for an Mac Book Pro (4Gig) which Im sorry was a utter peice of crap, as was the aftersales service, from both shops and on line, I took it back and demanded my money back, and bought the i7 PLUS another decent laptop for my daughter and still got a couple of quid change.

    Apple ? No thanks !

LOL.. I mentioned IBM... :( LOL... Though they are pricey, but so are Toshiba & Sony.. I think Sony wins the pricey war on the PC world. Forget that Alienware is worse!!
