I had a 2 foot silver arrowana jump out of my tank when I when to feed it. I never realized how large he was until I had to pick him up off the floor. He weighed a solid 5 pounds, I had to trade him after that because I realized he was waaayyy to big for the tank. That was back in the beginning when I first started with freshwater. He was about 3 years old at the time I traded him in. I got him when he was about 7" long. Man that was a great fish.

I have plenty of stories of fish jumping but none are out of the ordinary.

I did have one zebra turbo(jumbo sized, think tennis ball) climb out the tank and start cleaning the back of the glass.

All I have in my tank are jumpers..... :)

I suppose my most entertaining stories would deal with picking them up off the floor during feeding time, as one tries to beat another to that bit of food floating on the surface. I merely crack open my screen mesh to feed these days, and try to keep myself from getting splashed.

My story about a diamond goby named norman. After having him in my tank for about a week in my rsm I had to stick my hand in for what ever reason, I saw him bolt to the den fly thee the sand on the other side of the rock zig zag around like a bolt of lightning I was like woah ***! Finished what I was doing closed the hood and went to get online and found him laying on my chair! So I rushed him back in and he was calm ever since.

Luckily only two jumpers in my reefing experience, my flame hawk Dennis & sadly my BW Ocellaris recently, I had no idea either jumped and found them dried up. The ironic thing is that I have a jawfish & I have an open top cube, he's constantly jumping into my overflow box. I was very surprised that my little Ocellaris jumped, but my larger Ocellaris had been very aggresive to it lately.

    Great stories everyone!

My firefish and flasher wrasse jump daily - but yay! lid.

I've lost only one fish (knock on wood) to jumping and it was a very small flasher wrasse. :( Miss her.

    good stories.

I've had a bi-color blenny, red lipped blenny, and a O Clown jump.

I literally caught the clown when it jumped. Scared me - caught it out of reaction.

I also have this clawed frog. Now these frogs stay in the water 100% of time. They'll die if they get out for too long. This particular frog is like an octopus in that it can get out of things using magic, apparently.

Anyway, its tank is in the living room. It's a good 35 feet to walk from its tank to where I put my feet when I crawl out of bed in the morning. Around corners and everything. It is not a straight shot at all.

See where this one is going?

I wake up one morning, step on a wet spot... :-X (seriously, what are the odds of that? This thing can't "walk" on dry ground. Not built for it. Watching it move on the ground is like watching an amoeba run)

I look at this thing and it's completely covered in dust, lint, hair - it's gross. I wash it off, drop it back in its tank and go to work. It doesn't look good. It's twitching and stuff.

Now mind you, to put it in the tank, I have to take off the hood and all that. I would have assumed it's much much much too heavy for this frog... So I suspect magic is involved. ::)

At lunch I came home and half of its body was functional. It could successfully swim in circles. So I had to track down a replacement before the family noticed... Which I did.

So we actually have our second frog. I'm the only one that knows. If you ever meet my family, do not breathe a word of this!
    ;D
