Good news guys, I may have my wife on board. She wants her own tank where she gets to make all the decisions/do all the work. She is interested in a "cube" style tank. I was thinking something around 30 gallons. Now, I understand parameters are more difficult in smaller tanks but she is pretty adament about not wanting a sump and/or skimmer. She wants the tank to be very "clean" meaning not much stuff hanging off the sides. She is hoping to have this tank in the kitchen. My question, is how doable is a nano tank without a skimmer/sump? We would set up some pretty good flow and stock with 3 fish or less. Thanks for the thoughts!

    Perfect Solution!

Awesome! Have you looked @ the Nuvo line of Aquariums?
    Specifically the Nuvo 16. It's 16 Gallons, Rimless Glass + INCLUDES 2 8Watt Led's. We currently have them IN-STOCK and ON-Sale.

Please let us know if you have any further questions...

ran ran a 46bf without a skimmer for a long time. If she wants something simple and clean, less stock means less feeding which means less skimming needed.

    Great points!
Plus an (AIO) All-In One allows a small footprint, room in the back for cords, heater, skimmer, etc.

Nice! Your a lucky guy! I have my wife on board half the time, the other half of the time I still get "the look" weird thing is this tank is hers and she makes all the decisions and I'm jumping into things like sps for her enjoyment although I have no experience with it LOL.. I would do a nano/biocube you could get a 29g aio biocube and do a lot with it.

I have a 10 gallon setup for my fiance in her office at home. It has a modified AquaClear 70 HOB filter on it and an eheim jager heater and koralia nano powerhead. I have chemi pure elite and purigen in the AC 70, this stuff does wonders on nitrates, and a filter pad that gets rinsed every 3-4 days that has a little carbon in it. no skimmer.

I do about a 2 gallon water change on it every 2 weeks, and I never test the parameters anymore. I just look at the corals. It's the easiest tank ever.
