Potential tank hazard...

    In reading the "Tank of the Month" article in the new Reefkeeping mag (thread posted earlier)...

    I came across the following which seems to be a good point to keep in mind, esp. for those here with strong lighting...(goal of most of us)...

    writer states...(talking about past "serious setbacks")



    "...more recently, an episode in which I "burned" many of our SPS colonies by introducing carbon for the first time in a ten-month period, thereby rapidly increasing the intensity and/or spectrum of light penetrating the water..."


    Really something that would be easy for many (esp. me :p) to overlook...

    decreasing lights for acclimation, when adding new ones or when replacing bulbs all pretty common knowledge base...I would (have) completlely overlooked this...
