i got my potters 4 week ago. i have a 72gal tank. i purchased him from a lfs they said he was eating. he likes the rocks with algae in the tank he isnt slimming down still lean. so about 5 days a go i noticed ich on him and put him in a QT with a shelter and a couple of rocks with algae. ive tried mysis and freez dried and nothing worked the freeze dried stuff just stayed on the top of the tank and he didnt he try the mysis. so im starting to get worried i was gonna try reef nutriton the live stuff so any ideas?:cry: he is still is in pretty good color and swims around alot in the QT.

First off, remove everything from the QT. QTs should be bare. If he will only eat algae buy the norisheets and try them out. Have you used any meds yet?

I was going to recommend the nori sheets as well. You could also try soaking the food in garlic.

whatever you have in there DO NOT put back into your main tank. You will never get the copper out of it and it will leach back into your tank. As long as you leave the rock and whatnot with the QT it shouldnt be a big deal. But also that leaves places for parasites to hide also. When its bare, there is nothing for them to live on except the fish, which is what the copper is for.

    The reason is in bold.

Sometime it takes time for a fish to decide to eat norisheets. Keep trying with the nori.

Continue trying different kinds of food and adding/soaking in garlic will help to stimulate his appetite.
