He is in a reef tank. What can I do I have a twenty gallon tank I could treat him in if that's a good way. It will just be hard to get him out with all the rock I have. He is eating and doing great other than the white dots.

What is he eating? How long have you had him? With a lot of rock, iv learned in my experience that sometimes we stress the fish out even more with trying to catch him as well as the other fish in the tank....JMO. Well balanced diet, good water parameters and he may out fight it. Ick is a battle that nobody has fun with. I have had more ick issues in my current tank than I have had with any others in my life. I haven't changed a thing between all the tanks. Sometimes I feel like we will never know why :/

As far as spreading it just depends on the immunity of the other fish. Make sure your feeding a varied diet including seaweed. I feed my tangs 5 different foods. Powder blue tangs are prone to get ick like the regal tang. Make sure nothing is stressing him including fish. I also put garlic in the food 4 times a week and a good vitamin supplement like selcon too. Keep him fed and low stressed. If he takes a turn for the worse than I would treat him as a last resort.

Thanks guys I was just getting ready to start chasing him around the tank and REALLY stressing him out Lol. So I guess I will leave him alone and see how it goes. I have had him for two weeks he was really doing great too. He is eating ocean nutrition flake food and sea weed I also feed frozen mix of stuff but haven't seen him eat that. I just added some fish today so I wonder if that where it came from.

+1 pair this with a healthy diet and ich wont be a problem for long. is he your last addition? its "normal" for them to get ich when placed in a new environment, tangs in particular are prone to ich from what iv witnessed.

i would leave him be, youll just stress him out more and make him more vulnerable to the parasite

Thanks I was just scared of it spreading to my other fish sense I can't treat it. Everyone seems to be on the se page with leaving him alone so i will. He has been eating and doing great for 10 days so I thought he was good. I did add some fish yesterday morning than I noticed the ich at night. I just don't want to loose any others fish :-(

The ich is already in your system,I don't think removing him would make a difference in that and could add stress to all the fish.
