    Hi

I got a 4" powder blue tang in my tank which was recently introduced.
my water levels are all normal 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 0 nitrate, PH 8.3, salinity 1.019, skimmer siiclone 100, 900 kph powerhead and an aquaclear 50 filter. no corals and no other fishies...
she's eating like a cow! seaweeds and flakes and all that and is very active however I noticed JUST A FEW white spots on him! I dont think its ich caz its not all over her but Im just worried... one more thing I noticed is that she keeps scratching her sides to the rocks!! so I thought I'd ask the experts and I hope its not ich! I also put her tomorrows food in garlic just to strengthen her immune system...
    any advice would be appreciated.
oh and heres a video of her as of right now, u might be able to see the small amount of spots on her.... IMG_4598 - Download - 4shared

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Nope I can not make out any details. Since it's a Powder Blue I would be willing to bet it is Cryptocaryons irritans (marine ich). If it's isolated to fins it might be Lymphocytosis,

I'm going through the same thing with mine. It started with a few white specs and now she is loaded with them. I set up a QT tank today but I don't think mine is gonna make it.

1.019 salinity is not normal, but sould help with the spread or ich a bit. I agree with a PBT its probably ick. Feed high quality healthy foods with selcon is what I would do.

What's the size of your tank? If its scratching on rocks and such its probably ich. I had a blue tang and it would get white spots then they would go away then would come back and so on. I wanted to believe thatit was just sand stuck to tthe fish and not ich but it ended up dying. Don't ignore this problem is suggest setting up a qt/hospital tank and starting a treatment asap. Good luck!

No other fish a good thing in this case. I added powder blue to my tank who developed same issues, and it wiped out all the fish in my tank.

I'd run dim lighting, feed well (garlic/aminos) and try to eliminate any sources of stress and hope for the best.

Alternatively, QT him and treat with copper. Don't treat your main tank with copper.

After reading your other posts your tank is a 30 gallon. Thus tank is way too small for a powder blue. Your best bet is to return the fish, research small fish like chromis, damsels, or gobies would be a better fit. 30 gallon is far too small for any type of tang.

if what NC208082 is saying is true, a 4" fish of any sort is too big for that tank. take the fish back to your LFS quickly.

His LFS might not take it back if its infected with ich.
