I really hate to be a negative nelly but I wouldn't be too optamistic about the guy. Carpets have very harsh stings and in my opinion shoudn't be kept in a tank where there are fish for it to kill. This is a common beginner mistake and it saddens me every time I see something like this happen

I know. Bad impulse buy. If I knew what I know now I wouldn't of bought it. As soon as I can find a buyer it is gone. Thanks anyway

Just make sure to feed him very well, and keep your water pristine. Watch very closely for any signs of infection.

I had to actually pull him pretty hard out of the anenome because he was stuck and starting to get sucked in. And the sad part is that I just got home from work and noticed that he was a little sick and weak and was going to put him in another tank that is attached to the display without fish and had to wash my hands first and as I was drying them I was looking at the tank and he got stuck as I was looking at him

Bad news he died throughout the night. So that means that the anenome will be gone shortly

sorry dude. It's usually not good when they get to that point. I had a friend lose an imperator angel to a ritteri anemone. not good.

I am not saying the carpet didnt possibly finish the job however it is my expierence that powder blues are hard to keep and high a high mortality rate. That said he could of already been on the very last leg prior to the sting.

It has been said though that carpets should be in species only tanks as the are not good for corals or weaker fish.

Just me i would keep the carpet and tailor my fish around it but like i said that is just me
