So heres the deal. I have a small fairly young powder brown tang in a 40 gallon, which as i know is way to small. I knew this when i purchase him. He was very small, and i intended to return him to the LFS once he began to outgrow my tank. Problem is, The trusty LFS jumped ship and changed locations. They are now about 3 hours north of my location, and they were the only good LFS within that distance. (pet supplies and petco don't count obviously).

He has begun to outgrow the 40, and i have nowhere to take him. I don't just want to watch him slowly die or be tortured from lack of space. so what do i do???

Check to see if you have a local reef club that might have a member that wants him. Worse case post it on craigslist as free to a good home. I had to do that with a powder brown I had to adopt, and someone came and got him within six hours.

ya agreed go for a bigger tank, you can find them cheap on craigs all day long. If not you could prolly trade him for another fish to local forums. I have a sailfin in my 65 and when he outgrows it and I dont have a bigger tank by then he will go to a local friend with a bigger tank. Rather him live than to die in a small tank. How long have you had him for?

bout a year actually. A bigger tank is not an option really. Just not something i can really invest in at the moment. No room Either. and my town is rediculously small and unheard of. i don't think we have a reef club.

Are there any cities nearby that are larger and would have a club? Someone would probably drive a long way for a free powder brown.

Post him on the forum as free to anyone who will pay shipping. If my tank was big enough I would easily pay shipping for him.
