I would like to add 1 more large centerpiece fish to my 90. I, however, am very wary of putting fish in undersized tanks. Do you guys think 90 is too small for a Powder Brown? Most of the websites recommend a 75 gallon minimum, but I am aware that the minimums on most of those sites are lowballed.

Also, if anyone has experience with them, what is really their difficulty level? I have seen mixed reviews in the research I've done.

I had one for about two months, but he just recently died of ich. They are beautiful fish, very active, busy and always at the algae clip, however they are ich magnets. Unless your conditions are pristine and you have a hospital tank ready to go, I would advise a less difficult fish. That is just my opinion though. Either way, good luck.

It depends really, I have one in my 75 and he's very happy. Generally, you want a 6+ foot tank for any tang but if you don't have many fish and there is a lot of room for swimming then you could be okay in a 90. They need LOTS of swimming space to be happy. If you take very good care of it and watch it very closely, the extra care should be fine.

If you think you have enough space for it to swim around and have don't have many other fish, then go for it. Try to find a small one. feed him well, Algae from a clip daily and whatnot.

I love my PB tang, great fish. Beautiful fish with a great personality.

I have 5 chromis, 2 ocellaris clowns, a christmas wrasse, a royal gramma, a swallowtail angel, and a yellow tang. I Now, thinking about it, adding a powder brown might overcrowd the tank. I don't think it would be a biological issue because I have a lot of live rock, sand, a good skimmer, and I preform frequent water changes. I don't have any water quality issues right now, so I don't anticipate having any with one more fish, but as far as space goes for fish to live, I'll have to do some more thinking. Two tangs in a 90 might not be ideal...

I had one for a while in a 6' 125 gallon, seemed fine at first, but later just went on a downward spiral. from my personal experience with them I wouldn't go any smaller than a 6' tank. I would say you are already at your stocking limit, if not overstocked a bit already.

As far as stocking limits go, I find that my fish are by all indications happy and my water is clean, so I am not overstocked, but as I hinted I think that adding another tang would cramp the living space for the fish, so it would not be a good idea for the tank as a whole. In my experience, fish tell you when they are overcrowded by eliminating new fish or fish that are low on the totem pole. I don't want to reach this point, so I think I'll take that money and look for some nice coral additions.

your chromis are just going to die anyways, even if they are happy they always fight, i would trade them in for something but not a tang. 1 is enough in a 92 IMO and it need to be atleast 4' long for 1 tang
