power filter on my 20 g

    seeing i dont have room for a sump i ordered a bio wheel 350 should i still put a protein skimmer on it or will the bio wheel do enough on it's own ?

    I've used live rock, power heads, and a protein skimmer as my only filtration before. So I would say yes use a skimmer.

    go with a skimmer, the filter wont do too much other than providing water flow.

    You can go without a skimmer, but you'll be doing larger, more frequent water changes to keep nutrients in check.

    I will suggest you remove the bio-wheels from the filter though, as they require frequent cleaning to prevent creating additional nitrates. You also don't need them if you have live rock in your tank.
