what would you guys recomend for power heads for a 46 gallon bowfront tank that will start out as fish with lr but eventually move to corals. I was thinking 2 Koralia 550's.... any ideas?

I have a 55g,so i would recommend two 750's pointed upwards for better surface agitation and the undertow created will provide plenty of flow for the tank itself.Plus the 750's are about the same price as the 550's.

I was considering those but given its a 3 foot tank I thought it would be too much power.

Ah,i was thinkin a 46 was closer to 4 ft,so you could be right, they may be a bit much and if the 550's aren't quite enough, you can always add a smaller one in the middle, like a 225 or 425 koralia nano.It also will depend on what you're want to keep in there too.

I also think the 750s would be the better choice, even in a 3 ft tank.

I have 2 K1s (400gph each) in a 20g tall (2ft long) and it is not even remotely close to too much flow, even with them pointed down towards the corals (mostly Zoas).
