    Looking around on Amazon.com for a good and cheap power head for my 50gal tank.

    Found a set of 2 1300gph wavemakers for $16

    Or

    1 Hydor 750gph for around $40

    Anybody have any other ideas

    Wait an buy the hydor best money I ever spent, I have a nano 425 that's been running for close to 5 years non stop and no problems. Chrysler Chinese off ebay however quit after 2 week .

    Have you considered buying used to save on price a bit?

    iv had mediocre experience with Hydor, i find they often need cleaning for proper functioning and wont always restart easily after pumps have been shut off for maintenance.

    i still use them as "B flow pumps" on opposite corners of my tank pointing at each other. they are always on and their respective streams crash in the middle of my tank.

    main current is provided by two of these;
    Aquarium Systems // Sea water

    nwa9 models, placed on the remaining corners of my tank also pointing towards each-other, but they turn on alternatively with intervals of about 10 seconds each.

    and this is for my 120
