I am not using a powerhead just for circulation - no need - because my tank is small and my Remora and Tetratec provide excellent (even random!) circulation. I got lucky.

I have a Hagen 402 blowing across the back of the tank behind the live rock, and one aquaglobe pushing water towards the other aquaglobe...they are in the front and on the left and right side pushing towards eachother.....

This is in my 55 gallon...I also have a Aquaclear pushing water down from the surface.....

Anyone have any better ideas? You guys know best....Thanks guys....

Do you guys ever change the flow direction of the power heads?
If so do you do it weekly?

Wow Omard that is a good price I snagged one right away!
Does anybody have a schematic for a power head driven ridgid closed loop system? Ithink I've seen one but now I can't find it!

I dont use power heads. I use aquaclear 300 and 500 power filters for circulation. They pump at 300gph and 500gph using only 6watts and 14 watts respectively. Very power efficient and no ugly powerheads in the tank. Also has the advantage of mechanical and chemical filtration but I use mine with live rock rubble in the filter boxes.
