power outage

    what do you guys do if theres a power outage ? any tips or tricks to keep ur fish alive ?

    i now have a genertator but before i had a couple battery powered air stones and one of those battery powered power stripes that lasted for acouple hours so i could turn on the power heads for like ten minutes at a time.

    oh.. what you can use is like a car battery or something like that. (when we used to have power outage back in mexico, we used the car's battery to power up some essential things).

    If it's just a few hours it's not a big deal... (depending on your fish load)
    Heavy fish loads will run out of O2 faster of course but I'm sure you know that.
    Anyway If you don't have a generator an option is to get a power inverter for your car and run an extension cord to the tank.
    I have one built in to my car that can run up to 400Watts.

    i would probably have to do the air stone idea. Good thing i almost never get poweroutages. If we do, it's a freak thing like car accident and its only out for a couple hours
