We just lost power in our apartment due to a stupid billing mix up - ELECTRIC COMPANY'S FAULT :hothead:

Our 55 gallon currently has 2 clowns and 1 pink/blue spotted shrimp goby. There are also a bunch of snails and a few hermits. We have almost 50 lbs of rock in there so i'm not terribly worried about an ammonia spike, but I am worried about the temperature of the water. We live in a very cold area (boston) and the apartment only gets to about 75 degrees. The problem is that the tank is near a window, and I have a feeling its going to drop down to the 70 range. How long will the fish be able to survive?

    THANK YOU!!

most water heaters run on natural gas- get a few water bottles and fill them with hot water- then place them in your sump, or wherever else.

You can also wrap your tank in a blanket to keep the heat in longer.

Thank you all for the help! I'm thinking it will be out for a total of about 30 hours.

Definitely wrap the tank in some blankets and towels to help keep the heat in.
