    Hello,

I have been reading up on fire safety and how power strips are so important. There are so many power strips on the market and I have no idea which ones are worth anything? Does anybody have any suggestions for a good one - Price doesn't matter.

I would be plugging in my heater, skimmer, two lights, filter & power head.

    Thanks for any suggestions!!!

coralife power strip. Single Digital Power Center has 4 constant-power outlets and 4 alternating timer-controlled outlets (2 daytime/2 nighttime). Enhanced digital feature allows alternating timer to set the day-night cycle at different times of the day at different days of the week. dr fosters...

Also the best thing you can do is to put in "GFCI" is a ground fault circuit interrupter outlet.
If your receptacle is not GFCI either replace the receptacle or add GFCI Outlet Adapter to the current receptacle.

If budget allows it, run a dedicated circuit from the electrical panel with a GFCI breaker. This would give you a more consistent power supply also, watch the lights dim when your refrigerator kicks on and you'll see what I'm talking about. Any licensed electrician can add a plug easily, much cheaper than you think I might add.

I wouldnt recommend the coralife strip if you have MH's. Some bad personal experiences with that deal right there...

The power draw from a MH light will fry them. I went through 3 of them before finally calling them about it, only to have them tell me they aren't designed to handle MH's.
