Looking for recommendations for powerheads for a 240 tank. Tank is brand new and just starting the cycle, will be a full reef setup in the future. Currently have a
ASM G-3 Protein Skimmer w/ Sedra 5000 Pump in the sump, and a Iwaki MD-40RXT (1344 gph before head loss) Pushing about 1000gph after head loss. What do you guys recommend for powerheads?

Any way you go, it is going to get expensive on a tank that size.

What kind of flow are you looking for? Are you going for SPS?

Personally, I would go with 4 MP40s. Yes, It would hurt the wallet, but it is what I would do.

If you are able to drill your tank, a closed loop would be a cheaper way to go. Just uglier IMO. Throw in an Oceans Motions 4 way and you would get some nice movement.

I use Koralia because they are cheaper and work really well. But I have been told the MP40s are amazing and well worth the money!

I agree 4 MP40's would give you the flexibility to house anything in your tank.

What type of coral are you planning?

How about 4 K-8s. That is about as cheap as you are going to get unfortunately.

That would be 13,000gph, is that about right for turnover? thats 54x turnover from just the powerheads.

I have no complaints about my Koralias and a lot cheaper!! I don't have corals yet, but I think the more turnover the better. I don't know if you can have too much....
