After long night of working on my aquarium with the new tunzes I put in yesterday I finally got to bed at 04:30.. 4 hours later my wife wakes me to a disaster.. One of the tunze heads fell and demolished the sandbed..Tank totally white and milky, fish seem fine and coral is still out..

Should I do anything to help..Leave powerheads on or turn them off?? Rock is white, I blew it off with a low powered head.. Bottom of sump is covered in white... Are my fish and coral going to die?

    1 - added carbon already
2 - slightly blew rock off
3 - had to spread 40% of the sand bed back out adding to the mess

125 gallon 6' long tank.... WOW what a mess.. I am totally heartbroken..

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I would turn the power heads back on and let it settle out.

Use some mechanical filtration like floss or sponge. Keep blowing off the corals as needed.

I do not see any long term or immediate negative consequences other than appearance.

You may wanna keep an eye on your nitrate levels. Be prepared for a quick water change if needed.

It happens to the best of us. Time to get the aftermarket magnets for those jets

how old is your tank? stirring the sand in a newer tank i don't see a problem but if the tank is older with the sand having a lot of debris in it, than i would keep an eye on your ammonia, and nitrites levels along with the nitrates. if you have bactor7 by brightwells add it as directed on the side of the bottle.

Set the power head back up and let them run as if normal. If not the silt is going to settle on the rocks and when you fire up the powerheads the circulation is going to stir it back up and leave you where you started.
