so I am sitting here thinking about my placement of my powerheads/koraillas, and possible ways to Camouflage them.
First i was thinking maybe placing them (powerhead) in the center of the back wall and have each one pointing in opposite directions (Its a 55 long, and I dont have the pumps, yet alone how many I am going to need. This is all open. I will also have a sump return as well)
Second, Has anyone come up with a good way to camo these pumps without losing a whole lot of flow either in or out? I was thinking (depending on pump location) a PVC pipe cut into 1/2 or 1/3. Then cover it in silicon and glue some gravel/sand etc. to the pipe to hide the white.

    Any thoughts?

I keep looking myself and seem to keep coming back to using a closed loop system instead.

I don't know of anyone worying about hiding them.

I would place the pumps on opposite ends of the tank and aim them parallel to each other to get turbulent flow. You can aim the return flow to take care of low flow spots.

What does your rock setup look like? I used to have a setup that had rocks coming off both back corners. Then I took rock and built a tunnel like thing around it and but a flat piece of rock on top of it and put my star polyps on top of both. Since the koralias were opposing you couldn't see them. Let me know what your setup will look like with a pic or description and I will try to help you. Also, will they be pointing up or down?
