Powerhead placement

    Where should i place my 3 maxi jet powerheads for no dead spots in my 55 gallon? Here is a pic where they currently are:

    Personally I'd use some flake food and watch where it's going to settle and then make adjustments.

    Generally, I would say one on the side pointing up and then two in the back wall pointing towards each other. But trijam mentioned a good idea to be sure where to point them at.

    +1 this is how I had mine set up wjhen I had my 55 gallon, now that I have a bow front its even more complicated :(

    yeah bow fronts are a bit more complicated. try putting a powerhead on the back wall, in the center of the tank. Point it frontward. Water will "bounce" off the bow for randomized flow in that area.

    I use a turkey baster to place air bubbles into intake and you can follow the flow of water without adding food. Also I would invest in Eco Mod kits they really increase the flow rate I use purchased 2 kits and can only use 1 at the top of the tank. 120g. reef
