Powerhead powerless!

    Sorry, this is a frustration post! I had an extra powerhead I borrowed from a friend to run my skimmer with. I decided to hold off on installing my skimmer so I thought I would put the extra PH in the tank. Yea... found out one of mine was dead! Can you rebuild PH's, and is it worth it? I figure instead of dumping money on a broke PH I should probably go ahead and set up my closed loop. :uzi:$$$$! Kissing more money goodbye sooner than I had hoped!! Such is life:p now I have reasoning for the purchase when my wife asks!

    PH are repairable to a degree. You can changes o-rings, impellers and shafts. As for the rest of the PH, no you cant(at least the ones that are sealed).

    +1 I would definitely give the impeller and other parts (except for the o-rings and other rubber parts) a good soaking in vinegar. If that doesn't work, try replacing the impeller.
