Quick question is it bad if the powerhead is blowing some sand up as well or is this normal and okay for the tank? Thanks

its ok as long as the sand isnt in a couple year old tank, that hasnt been disturbed in a while.

but for a newly set up system its normal, also its fine for very shallow bed system

Agreed. How deep is your sand bed?

I would have to say the highest point of the sandbed is about an inch and a half. Should i be pointing the power head up or down or middle range?

*New tank, Fresh Sand, it's not equal inch and a half all over either, just the highest point

It will take a while for the sand to develop a bacterial coating and settle down as well. I wouldn't worry about it right now unless it's a sandstorm.

Hard to say. Every tank with it's aquascape is different. Just keep the sand stationary and all will be well.......I would get into the habit of this now. While it won't react as much as, say, mine would, it will still react. So best left avoided.
