I recently bought a pair of Jebao Rw-8's. I was on youtube looking at how to control these things and I have noticed a few different placements in some of the tanks I saw. I have always had two powerheads, one on each side of my tank. I noticed in one video the powerheads are placed on the left and right side on the back glass of the tank, firing forward. Is there a benefit as to which way to place them is better? Thanks for the input. Figured if I'm going hi-tech maybe I'll switch up the location and see what happens.

Basically you want to eliminate the dead zones in the tank as big of a tank as you have you probably need 4 or more. I have three power heads in my 75.

I'm a bit out of my leage with these things. I'm assuming I'll run them wide open in my 300? 8,000L/H I'm about to watch a 15 minute youtube video to learn me a thing or two. Anyone on here have these?

I'm using the WP40's- isn't that an ol.der version of the same?
I also did my self named 'Todd MOd'- which also increases the flow, but mainly keeps the detritus from building up on the WP's thin fin slots on the intake side.

    Trhy them out and see.

I have to have mine on the back wall, at the ends about 2/3 of the way from the bottom-
facing toward the surface and slightly toward the front.
It's still hard to keep any substrate down at the front on the bottom however.
    Lots of flow.

Someone mentioned they had 4 PH's. If they have 4 RW8's- well then OK. O/w- these pumps/Ph's have awesome flow!

YOu can see mine in this pic

After I put them in I noticed there was barely any flow. These are too small for my tank. I re ordered the two RW-20's and they should be in this week. Todd I'll try the "Todd mod" with the 20's when I get them. For now I have the 8's placed like you have yours on the back glass and it a little improvement.

Ok, I do't think the RW's need the 'Todd Mod'!
I got the idea from other PH mods, and more so my looking at the visable difference between RW's and MP's pH's. The RW are already widely spaced.- I'd leave them alone IIWY.

I hope the new ones help,
    Todd

RW-20's are in and man this tank is a ROCKIN!! I have a 1" wave on the surface too. I hope my fish aren't too out of shape from my lack of flow in there for the past month.. Batten down the hatches, I'm back baby!

Do you have them powered down? I have mine at 90%. I was wondering does the master control the slave, as in if I change a setting on the master will it automatically switch on the slave unit? Also the light sensor and night mode, do they work together? The room my tank is in stays pretty dark with my blinds shut. I'm jumping on youtube now to see what I can find on these things as far as settings go.

I have two wp60's on my 220. They are ten inches from the top and ten inches from the front. Pointed directly at each other, they are powered down about 40%. They are controlled so that when one is on the other is off, this happenes very quickly. Creates a nice wave. I believe "W1" is the setting. I also use the night setting where the pumps power down to the lowest setting and stay constant once the lights turn off.
