Im looking to setup my 6', 125 gallon reef tank.
I wanted to go with the vortech mp40's but they're so damn expensive.
Does anyone know of a couple of power heads that I can install that will
Eliminate any and all dead spots? Preferably controllable, although they don't have to be.

    Any advice would be appreciated

You could do maybe 4 Koralia 1400's with a wavemaker to get you by until you can afford a couple MP40's. Should be able to get everything for around $200.

Up here in Toronto korialas (1400) run about 54 each. Not sure how that compares. A wave maker at least 100. So right there your almost at one mp40. Pretty sure you could get away with one and maybe a cheaper pH. I know this feeling. I just got paid for a bunch of overtime and wondering what to do with my ew found wealth. This morning I was all giddy about going out to get a Vortech, but as the day goes on I'm slipping back to do I really want to spend 500 on a power head. Or a controller (apex. or reef angel). I am literally back and forth every five minutes. Hopefully someone chimes in, but I don't really want to hear that I wont regret it. I know I won't. But regret or lack there of just isn't enough to sway me into spending 500 smacks. Now if people tell me my coral will be sending me Christmas cards thanking me and this vortech will improve the health of my system then that could tip me in that direction. Although I really do want a controller.....ahhhh....this hobby drives me nuts, but I love it. Sorry for the hijack. If I were you I apparently have know idea what I'd do. Lol.

Yea, I'm currently in the same situation. Obiviously vortechs are top of the line. I'd like to know how much more beneficial they are to the coral in the tank and if theres another powerhead out there that can provide similiar results at a cheaper cost
