Well seems I can't go out of town with out something bad happening. My two dogs which never fight over food decided to get pissy over a bone. After the emergency room, surgery, and next a tooth removal, it will only cost me 2 GRAND!

To throw salt in the wound, my Watchman Goby was crab food yesterday. Have no reason why. Other fish are fine. I'm really bummed. He was cool. Didn't see him for about 2 months after the move. Figured he got buried under a rock. One day he decides to pop out. Now hes gone.

Not to mention a gave up a tat to get my tank. I keep spending money on it so no tat. We went away this weekend for our anniversary and I finally got the OK on the tat. So much for that.

It sounds like I'm mad, but I would sell my whole setup tomorrow for my dogs. I'm quite bummed they got into a fight. Seems the bigger one went off and didn't stop. Next day they are all BFF again.

Now for the fish.... I've been meaning to get a Mandarin. I have plenty of pods. Not sure what I want to replace it with.

Did some maintenance today. Bought a hydrometer too. My needle said 1.026.... the hydrometer said 1.030:angry:. Cleaned up stuff. Added some Nasarius.

I took some pics of all my corals in July. I am going to update my growth every 3 months. Can't wait.... some of my Montis are growing like weeds.;D

Replaced my Watchman Goby that bought the farm.

My Green open Brain is always extended good. I came home the other morning and it was HUGE. All puffed up. It was really cool.

I got my Hippo Tang really small. It has been growing a bit.... but it must be juicing now! It just grew a lot. Big as the Yellow now.

And here is the new addition. LFS ordered it. It came in big and fat. It is a little shy right now, but he is beautiful.

I'll try to get a better shot of him later.

    I FINALLY DID IT!

I got off my lazy butt today and changed out my outlets for GFICs. Been meaning to do that for some time now. I tend to procrastinate on the unglamorous stuff. :)

Seriously though... if my fish tank would have burned down the house, I would be divorced AND homeless. Sometimes I wonder why I spend so much time and money and not do the important stuff.

Tested everything. Finally have had some stability after getting my dosing all straightened out.

    Alk. 9.5 DKH
    Ca 450
    Mg 1200
    SG 1.028

I got a refractometer so it showed my hydrometer to be off a bit. I'm getting it down to 1.026-1.027, after that I will raise up my MG. It is time for a 20 oz. shot of my BRS, but I want to get it up to 1300. I'm happy where my alk/ca is.

Circuit breakers at the power panel only provide over current protection. Anything that deals with water needs to have Ground Fault Circuit Interuption protection. Any ground fault with water is bad since it can provide all kinds of paths to ground. A GFIC compares incomming and out going current. Any leak will trip the GFIC.

I got worried hearing about fires and the possibility of electricution. You can install a GFIC breaker at the panel for the whole circuit ($35), change out the socket you plug into ($15), or plug everything into a GFIC power strip (?). I run my setup on two circuits, so I just replaced two sockets I plug into. $27 and 15 minutes seems reasonable to protect my home and loved ones. Don't ask why this was not done a year ago.
