Powerman's 90g thread.

I don't think mine have changed. I can't notice any difference in color from photos. Don't know how accurate that is. It isn't that I don't like them, it is just I think that is the limit of what I do like for blue.

I could not decide which actinic to go with. Well I was very surprised that my dual bulbs look just about the same as my halides. Except they make florescent colors pop more.

The Coralife 10K the 14K replaced were quite yellow in an very annoying way. So something more white, less blue, not yellow. We'll see. The really cool thiing about the Phoenix's is their high par number for such a blue color. I would certainly recomend them.

On a side note, I picked up a Vortech MP40. Can't wait to see what it does for my tank. I was reading an article in Advanced Aquariist that flow is more important than light.

DAMN IT! I can't seem to keep Mandarins. I got one finally from my LFS. Well it's fins looked tattered. Seemed good other wise. Didn't know if it was getting picked on. It only lasted a week.

So I wait a couple of weeks...3-4... then get another one. This Mandarin had been in the LFS for 2 weeks. Looked healthy and fat. He lasted a week. I was keeping a close eye on him. Looked good. Always hiding, but where other fish can't get him. Have no idea what he died from. Crabs are eating him now.

And yes.... I have a crap ton of pods for him to eat. He could have been the size of a cow if he wanted.

 

I'm so STOKED!!! A local Coral farmer... Reefkoi... was having a big sale. So I went out and was wanting some SPS.



The skinny stick is GARF Bonsai, some Purple Haze and Superman Monti, an ORA piece he thinks he priced wrong... the neon green Milli thing in the middle??? a blue/purple Acro, and some green Duncans. $150 for all. A good deal for what he normally sells for.

When I got home this was waiting for me.



And to top it all off, there was some piece of frag on the ORA piece... well the Hermits came over to investigate and the piece walked off the plug! I think it is a bubble tip anemone??? What do you think?



Not sure what to do with it.

Powerman tell me whats so special about the vortechs.... I havent ventured past the koralias due to the high price tags on the vortechs.

 

Dude.... I didn't think we would get 6 all season. I like Jay's arm. Ints are to be expected with a new team. He will come around.

All I know is that when we got Orton.... I said that is the missing piece to the new DYNASTY!!!!;D
