You definitely need to read it under natural sunlight, the brighter the better, to see the color reading.

I've tried. It has been a little over cast here though. It isn't like I'm going to throw it away.

What I can tell is that next to yellow, there is a very slight blue tint. So that is good. The problem is that it is so light, it is just really hard to say.

The color sample is much darker. My sample, (yes viewing it down the length of the tube), is very light compared to the color sample. So the lightness is what is giving me the hard time.

I will try to get more natural light to veiw in. Any other tips you might have?

the only tip I can give is get a second opinion and a non reefers opinion is good in these situations . They will see and thus tell you what you need to know, rather than what you want to hear.

Nothing like a non biased opinion to add to validity. Good suggestion, Steve. :)

Thanks guys. Randy Farly said all kits are hard to tell below .03. I paid $80 to find out what he was talking about. I keep meaning to ask the chemist at work if we have a photometer.

Wholly Crap! My temp is usually pretty stable... 79.4-79.9 now Summer is over. Well I have not even been checking lately and we are in quite an early Winter cold snap. Saw it was low when I got home. Checked the logs...My tank has been getting down to 75 at night. That is with the heater up more than usual and a 400w heater in the sump.

Well I just set up my other heater on a spot on my AC Jr. Now I will probably be all freaked out tonight with it not being right. I hate doing stuff before bed.

Powerman - I recently was in similar situation, my heater normally works for 2 weeks per year starting in Jan . We had a freak cold spell and I only noticed one morning when my tank controlled by the chiller was down at 24.2 from its normal 25 to 25.9
heater dormant for 10 months had obviously retired itself

nothing suffered as a result of this temporary change from the norm

Well, pretty frustrating day. Mt MP40 won't stay on. Can't get it to stay connected. Can't talk to Eco Tech till Monday.

While cleaning the glass, noticed little tiny worms crawling all over. Beige colored with split tails. so that is just freakin' great. I have AEFWs  Wonderful.

Not a great day for the tank.
