Darn it, sorry. Saw your list, but not the message. They have a DC-4. So I have a DC-4 and a DC-8 for my twelve. You daisy chain them with phone cord. They have dip switches to label them for the brain.

Look on Neptune's site and you will see them, but retailers have them too. You will see a DC-4 and a DC-4HD. Heavy duty is for use with MH lights that draw a large current. I have talked to several people including some retailers and they say a regular DC-4 will be fine with any halide light. I was going to get the regular, but came across a good deal on a HD on RC. So that is what I have.

Also, even though I don't control my PH with the Jr., I still like having the probe. Much better data than just drop tests now and then. It logs data all day long so you will see exactly how your temp and PH is swinging through the day. You will need cal fluid too for the probe.

aight.... could you use two of the 8 strips? only control 12 of the 16? Just food for thought. because I know you were concerned about space. Maybe you were concerned about your programmable space?

So there must be only space for 12 programmable functions within the ac jr. for it to only control.

If so Im just gonna get two of the 8 strip. and have 12 of 16 programmable. and the other 4 for non programmable function. A constant energy supplied plugs.

This is from the AC JR product description.
"The flexible timers allows for the standard lighting control as well as for dosing of various elements. Up to 12 devices can be controlled by the AquaController Jr. All outputs of the AquaController can either following the automatic programming, or can be manually turned to an on or off state."

Hmmm... I'm not sure. Let me look in my manual. I thought about 2x8 as well, but never got there.

What it is talking about in what you quoted...... The AC Jr. only has twelve timer name slots in it's programming. So you can only label 12 slots for it to know what to do with. You can label more with the AC 3. That's what is Jr. about it. You can only have 48 lines of program too, but I have not found that to be a limit.

The manual control is in the controller. You go to "manual control", and tell the timer to turn on or off..... but it still has to be labeled "something", and you can only have 12 "somethings".

After reading my manual for the DC-8.... it does not state anything about unused outlets. It isn't a power strip, and all outlets are controlled by a relay. So you have to tell the relay to do something, and nothing says the default value is "on".

I had to talk to Neptune and they were helpfull. I'm sure this is a common question, but I don't know for sure. May be in their FAQ section?

I called up neptunesys and they said 2 8 outlet strips would work but 4 outlets would be off. Nothing you could tell the outlets to do since you can control only 8. So that solves that.

Well Im quite envious over you aquacontroller. Now I gotta get one. Maybe the APEX System LOL :p
