    I meant to respond to that question the first time you asked it, yesterday. I'm sorry it slipped by me.

    The macro mode on my camera, as on many, is the flower button. It automatically does a close up, but it doesn't zoom, I don't think. Zooming can be done separately--but with loss of clarity.

    I find that the clearest pics are achieved without flash and without zoom. If you see above, the two mushroom pic's are taken one without flash (the first) and then with. There's more clarity with the flash in the second pic, but somehow the color rendition is lost. The first pic isn't as "clear" somehow, but shows more true color.

    I just mess around, and I suspect like many, I take many more pics than I keep. I delete most, and post the ones that come out relatively well. For the bubble, it just happens to be an inch from the glass, and the camera catches it very well. The fact that it's a breathtakingly beautiful coral doesn't hurt either. :)

    It's like Halle Berry. She really doesn't take a bad picture, does she?
