Pre-packaged Macros

I asked my LFS if they had enough macro algae but they asked me how much I wanted. I wasn't sure how your "measure" amount of macro aglae so I said about a couple cups full. They said they have pre-pakaced macros but I am not sure what it is. If it is even anything different I just want to make sure.

 

I would imagine they are speaking of freeze dried algae (Seaweed Selects?) used for feeding herbivores. If you're wanting live macros to grow in the tank, they aren't what you're looking for.

 

Live Macros are what I want. I saw them being grown in a tub, but wasn't sure if they were ready to sell, I asked last week and they said they didn't have enough to sell. When they ask how much I want, how do I give them an answer lol. Do I say 3 cups of it? A large clump?

 

LOL, my LFS sells it by the "handfull" @ $5.00 per. I've seen some on-line sellers selling it by the 1/4 lb, by the "sandwich bag full", etc. I you're buying caulerpa, just get a "handfull", because with decent lighting you'll be selling the stuff yourself in a couple of months!

 

Whatever they sell its $9.99. I think they are asking me how much i want because they are limited on what they can sell right now.
