I just dumped my RO water into the tank to cycle it yesterday and it turned a weird green color and doesn't smell great. 'm not sure why since its been circulating. Should I just dump it or should I add the salt?

Something definitely went awry with that batch... I'd suggest dumping it, cleaning out the tank, and starting over. It's going to be more work and headache than it's worth trying to save and use it.

Did you have the lights on while the water was in there? If so, I would recommend adding pre-mixed salt water next time, and keep the lights off while cycling.
