One day I was at my LFS, and I love this Red fish. He kept following me and staring at me. I thought I was attached and sold. Until I asked the owner, and he said that he might grow as big as my head. LOL, it was grouper. He's mean indeed.

Unfortunately, lionfish don't play well with non-planktonic feeding triggers, puffers, or large angelfish. All of these will harass the lionfish to death by nipping off their dorsal spines. While you do hear the occasional "success" story, most such mixings go wrong.

Even I kept a picasso and a porc puffer with a P. volitans once upon a time, but that was over 20 years ago before anyone knew any better, and FWIW, the lion killed the triggerfish, or actually, the trigger killed itself on the lion's spines when it tried to swoop in on the lion's food at feeding time.

When you're selecting preds, you need to do a bit of homework, or at least let us know what you're considering so we can help advise you.
