+1 tropic marin pro reef. I have found that there is very little dosing if I do regular water changes.

Just switched to Reef Crystals from Instant Ocean. IO was only at 365 calcium and I am hoping to get a big boost from the upgrade!

The Toxicity of Some Freshly-Mixed Artificial Sea Water

Crystal Sea MarineMix - Bioassay Laboratory Formula.

It's the only one that faired better than NSW in this laboratory study. ;)

    Cheers

Looks like coralife, that crystal sea and IO were only used in the study. That's not many brands to choose from, but testing salt mixes was not really what the article was about.

I think if you looked for a more applicable battery of tests, that had all the major players of salt mixes, you would actually be able to compare brands.

I know I've seen the test that everyone wants to see but I need to find it.
This test tests ALL the brands for Ca, Alk, Mg, and all the trace elements.

My LFS just started carrying Tropic Marin. They've got a 5 Gallon bucket for $90. Great deal IMO.

I started with Instant Ocean a year ago and moved to Oceanic about three months ago with a significant increase in Coraline growth and still great growth on my softies. I don't do any dosing and I don't do much testing of water so take it for what its worth.
