    Hello to All,

For those of you who have seen my sea cuke Hendrix, I have yet another lovely cuke to share with you all. I am defaulting to calling this one a "she". when you see her colors you will know why. Total diva pink with a beautiful white crown of fronds.

In addition I got some shots of a new Xenia and Hammer as well. There is also a shot of some really pretty pink zoas (that are getting the toothbrush today when I do a major tank cleaning...)

Im excited about the hammer - the tentacles seem to cast this iridescent golden color white the heads are a pale pink. If anyone here has a large version of this hammer coloration - id love to see what mine might grow up to look like!

Oh yes, and when I was feeding the tank, my purple reef lobster Benny came out just long enough for me to quickly snap off a photo of him. It is near impossible to do because he is lightning fast and spends his time chilling near the back of the rock den he shares with my Allen's Damsel.

If anyone wants to suggest a name for this lovely cuke, you are welcome to post it here. Princess is just too obvious although it would definitely fit what with the white crown and all.

Enjoy (and excuse the random algae and unfortunate scratches on the glass).

Nice suggestions! I am liking Marley out of the two so far. I figured you might pop into this thread - I know how much you like the cukes. You realllllly need to get one!

The LFS also has a tiny BRIGHT YELLOW one (like lemon yellow only brighter) that is tempting me! It is less than 2" long at most and is also a filter feeder.

frankly - my tank could undoubtedly support all kinds of them merely on the amount of tiny stuff that always seems to be floating around :)

    So......when are YOU getting one?

As soon as my LFS has a nice one in stock, LOL!!!

I can't wait. I always have particulates in the water. I'm not looking for that pristine blue water so all the little floating bits keep all of my tube worms nce and healthy.

    *jealous*

The name techno came form BMW's Techno Violet paint. Marley is....well, pretty self explanatory, LOL!

Can you put in a request? Maybe even show them a pic or two. Surely they can request one or two from the supplier.

I would be curious as to what your LFS might charge you. Mine were fairly priced and both very robust as far as health and body size etc so I feel they were worth the money. Both are in full bloom right now and that makes me happy since I know they are feeding and helping to filter the water all that the same time.

My fish dont bother them although they get curious. So far its been peaceable in there. I did read that if you notice any "shrinkage" (excuse the phrasing) that it means theyre not eating enough - as was suggested to me by inwall75 - i squirt some DT's in the tank near Hendrix on a regular basis.

I just hope they are fair with you when the time comes. They're fun and colorful and low maintenance - all good things in my book. If one ever gets upset and makes the tank sick, that is how nature works - I can accept that as a calculated risk. I will simply start over. In the meantime though - they really are a fun addition to the tank - they often get the most comment from anyone who has seen them. "whoa what is that thing?"

The sand sifting ones are worth their weight too though - anything that takes in dirty sand and expells clean sand is an asset if you ask me! My sand sifter is a busy guy too.

That is one hot cuke. haha

Since you have one named Hendrix why not keep with the theme and name it Joan Jett, or just Jett.

Cool cuke....can name it Laurel (as in a crown of laurels) or Rosa (meaning pink) or Corona (meaning crown).

I may just look into getting one to help keep my tanks clean.
