I have an opportunity to get a HUGE basketball sized duncan colony centerpiece for my softie / LPS reef. It has over 40 heads and I was told it is Australian. what is a good private party (non-LFS) price for something like this?

How much per head is this stuff going for in other areas? In LFS's here it seems to be $7-10 per head.

    Thanks.

$100 for a private party is what I would consider more than fair.

Here in VA it can be as much as $25.00 a head! But the going rate seems to be about $15-$20 a head.

Depending on the colors and how healthy, 100-200. A guy here locally sold a 20-25 head piece for 200 easily

a lfs here in chicago (chicago means expensive) has a 40+ headed duncan going for $399.

I would hope a private party would sell it at $100-150 and no more than that.

Cool, now I feel a little better about potentially laying down $100 for this thing, $2.50 a head seems like a pretty decent deal to me. Still on the fence weather or not I want to re-arrange the whole middle section of my tank to fit this thing in.

That's a good deal, I'd pay it. I paid $35 for a 3 headed duncan with green mouths and purple tentacles.

Do it! I've seen outrageous prices for Duncans and Dendros. If anything, you can frag it and take it to an LFS.
