    I wish mine hadnt died the colors are awesome. Congrats on getting him to eat brine shrimp. :)

    That is a rarity, these are some picky little critters, you landed the motherload with one that goes that easy.

    Really an amazingly pretty fish but they are also behaviorally interesting to watch.

    Ahh. I have my 55 but I won't get him/her until after I move, I don't want it to die during transit.

    thats amazing i've had 2 mandarines and used to work at a pet store that dealt in saltwater and never once saw a mandarin eat anything anywhere near resembeling flake food

    yea i have had 2 but have trained all to eat blood worm/pellet and or anything i threw in the tank. To me they seem to respond to blood worm the best then i move them on to other frozen.

    I'm with you there if I were about to relocate I would try to minimize the risk potential.


    I've not tried blood worms yet, I'll pick some up next time I'm at the fish store.

    congrats however mandarins need to eat nearly 24/7. imo a 29 is a bit small but best of luck.

    I've been on the verge of taking him to a fish store just for that reason but
    that's why I've spent so much on pods. Also eating the frozen will be a nice supplement.
