Prices on corals...

    So are acans like the in coral right now? why are they so expensive? Im personally a huge ricordea fan/clams fan. Does supply and demand dicate prices?

    think it depends on the seller and the type of acan. seen aussie lords for 150/2 heads and the same site had other acans for 29/frag. Aquaculture and wild harvest play a factor in pricing as well. But I'm not an expert just my observations.

    They have always been popular. Easy to keep, great colors and huge variety. If there is any "now" coral, it's chalices IMO.

    I would have to say that Acans are at there lowest price righ now. Of course you will find that some of the crazy colors ar rather expensive still.
    I remember a couple years ago some of the most common colors were selling for 100.00 per polyp.
    I wonder what the next trend will be after chalice..

    some new awesome thing from australia prolly... idk if its just me but recently I have been seeing a lot of cyphastrea so maybe they are next?

    prices vary from one location to another too.. store to store.. etc..

    I recently informed my supplier about acans and chalices since no one in Trini has either of the two.
    Our trend is still softies. But hopefully at the end of the month, I would have convinced him to import some chalices. They're gorgeous corals.
    I think the next big hit would be favias. They seem to be coming more popular recently. The cyphastrea are coming on quite well too.

    I agree. I have seen a lot of Cyphastrea hitting the market as well. It grows soooo fast.
