I am thinking of snagging one of these (8500478125_Premier_125_with_prefilter.jpg) for my 50 gallon reef. I've never been a huge fan of wet/dry filters, but my canister is a pain in the bum to clean and refugiums are too expensive even with the "at cost" discount I get at work. I can get this unit for 157 and change.

    Plans:

    1) remove bioballs and replace with LR rubble
    2) install two black baffles to make the center of it a refugium
    3) place return pump and uv pump in last chamber
    4) UV returns to the refugium
    5) build a larger drawer so I can place more pads and media in it
    6) Skimmer will hang on the back of the wet/dry
    7) throw canister out 2nd story window

    the premier 125 is 24" x 10 x 17.

Think this will work? I am sure the plans will change slightly once I actually see the size of the pump area.
