I need help. I bought a Mag Drive 7 pump a couple of weeks ago and installed it as a basic circulation pump. All was fine for about a week or so and one night while I was watching my fish, I noticed that the flow had dimminished quite a bit. I checked all of my return plumbing and could not find a clog. Has this ever happened to anyone else? and if so what caused it and what was the solution.

Try what crappyballer suggested. All pumps must be taken apart and cleaned every so often, at least once every other month. Also, did you run the pump dry? If you did, the impeller might be warpped.

    This is funny.

This very morning I discovered my MAG 7 not running. - My skimmer pump.

I keep a spare just in case which I immediatly put on.

I pulled the 4 screws on the inop one and found the impeller jammed. Turned it couple of times and off it went.

Make sure the 4 screws are fully tightened down. If not, it will lose pressure.

I think it is a great design flaw that there is not some sort of gasket between the pump and impeller housing.

Hey omard, doesnt your Magdrive have an o-ring between the housing and pump?

I have had both the impeller stuck or too much air getting caught in it (Sat at an odd angle and I had to shake it every couple of days. Large air bubbles would then come out. )

Hit a few times (not with a hammer just a few taps with your palm)
