What is the water level were the skimmer is? If it is too low it may keep the skimmer from working properly. Also it will take some time before the skimmer breaks in.8)

Give it about a week and see if it breaks in.;) It does seem kinda strange because looking at your pic the water looks very low. Is this set to its highest adjustment?

I have one and it is in 5"s of water in my sump
the buble level is very thin but the water level is almost where it should be
Is what your problem is the air hose is kinked at the pump inlet
I ended up bypassing the factory installed hose and rereouted a new one out the bottom where the power cord comes out and ran it above the top of the skimmer cup and cliped to my cabnet fram with one of those large documents spring clips....Wahla fixed the proble and I had to crank it to about half then on control valve.

BUT....the pump just fried on me last night!!!!!! about 1yr old

did you ever check the air hose where it connects to the pump? mine was kinked right at teh nipple on the pump....that nipple is like on a fitting that connect to the intake and it rotates.....i figured that out when I tried to clean the pump the first time..That is where I saw the hose was kinked a little....after messing with it I could never get it in a position to where it would be wide open.....so I took the hose off the pump and cut it off where it enters the body of the skimmer at the base; then rerouted a new hose (heavier hose) to where the power cord comes out at the base and ran the hose up to the top of the stand and made a clip out of a paper binder that is clipped to a cross beam on my stand...just leave enough room to hold the hose snuggly near the top of the clip.

Now you have to turn down the skimmer becuase you have a ton more air flow :)
