Hey Guys....well I'm starting to notice some things with my pink eyed zoo's (Avatar) A few are discoloring...the middle is not the bright pink as it was....only a few polyps having this problem. Also, there is a cluster of about 4-5 polyps that for the most part have detached from the rock, except a small piece which is holding it on. The cluster is also being supported by the polyps surrounding it, and sitting on the top, so probably wont fall off on its own, but I'm curious if it is okay to leave there, or should I attempt to remove it, to take out the risk of it dying off later on. Is it possible that it will reattach? Is it okay to not necessarily be attached to something?

Also, if I feel that there are a few individual polyps that might be dying, should I remove those ASAP? I'm not familiar with zoo diseases, and trying to research in the mean time..but other than that, the remaining polyps, which is a lot are growing like crazy...my yellow polyps which were an added bonus on the same piece of rock, have almost tripled in size, and all others are looking great! I have Halloween hermits, which always seem to be falling onto, or crawling over the zoos....could he have caused this? I observed daily for quite awhile and have yet to witness them actually eating it.

All per. are where they should be.....

Any ideas of what is going on, or reference material online to describe specific issues with Zoo's in particular??

    Thanks,
    Stef

how many watts are over your tank, i know that for some of my zoos, that dont get alot of light, they lose their color if they are in the shade or dont get enough light

Yea, that might be it, the ones that I am noticing the problem with are mostly either below the taller yellow polyps, or on the side of the rock. If that is the case, will they still survive and just loose their color, or slowly perish? There are a few polyps almost on the underside of the rock that are in the shade totally, the rock is positioned to allow the most light for the colony. But it still leaves a few without light, or very little....but the majority of them are thriving beautifully! So all in all, I think its okay, just need to get more familiar with what to look for as far as disease and distress is concerned! Thanks for everyones help!

(I tried to get pics, but its to difficult to even notice the difference in the photos.)
