Problems with a Reef Devil

ASM is a great skimmer. I believe that is a modified needle wheel? It will pull out quite a bit. Iraf runs a G2 on his 90. Packleader is about to run a G4 on his 200.

 

I have an asm g2 and have no complaints after 8 months.Pulls lots of nasty stuff.Its basically plug and play.just adjust the tube up or down or even better put a gate valve on it so you don't get your hands wet.

 

Ok I have been trying starting at the top and working down. The water level in my sump is between 81/2 and 9 inches. Currently I have the water level right below the clear riser tube. Is this where I want it.

 

the instructions would claimed the the beginning of where the bubbles converge, should be at the bottom of the the clear tube, i think

 

Could you word that more clearly please?

 

the skimmer will have a bunch of bubbles in the neck of the clear part. eventually when they hit the surface of the water they will produce foam(or supposed to). the very bottom of the foam area, where foam and water column meet, should be at the bottom of the clear neck

 

That where I have it now lets see how it works.

 

i hope it does, my lfs guy which is against this brand, for good reason i see now after having better skimmers. said for it to ever work for him he had to set the foam line 2 inches below the collection cup.

 

Yeah if this don't work when I have fish in it I am getting an asm g2

 

K I tried that method overnight and when I came down the skimmer was going crazy overflowing.
