I was 3 months old and as of 10 days everyone was happy and healthy. My guess is some bug got in the water and attacked all of them. Only Puffer is alive now and he stopped eating today. In a desprite attempt to save him I added Copper Safe to attach whatever is there. If he dies I will toss ot everything including the rocks and sand and start over. Thanks.....

That would most definitely cause pH shock, but I have to wonder about your salinity- fresh-mixed saltwater should be 8.0 - 8.4, depending on the brand of salt mix and your SG. 7.2 is the pH of slightly impure FRESHwater.

Oh, and 7.4 is way too low for SW fish, so I'd say that's most likely your problem.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I would not toss everything. What I would do is let the tank sit fallow for 3 weeks or longer. Test for copper before you add any corals or inverts to the tank after you have done sufficient water changes and run some quality carbon.

Replacing all the rock and sand in 100 gallon tank is not cheap.

Can you please provide a list of the fish you had in the tank.

Are there any visual symptoms like frayed fins, white spots or blotches, breathing heavily at the surface. How long it took after the development of symptoms to the demise of the fish.

Instead of spending the money on new rock or sand I would invest in a quarantine tank. Proceed slowly with stocking.

I still think 10 fish in that size tank with the tank only being 3 months old regardless of the parameters and addition of prime is pushing it. Yup I am somewhat old school.

Well Puffer is doing better, he is swimming more and the green Wolf eel is hanging on, not sure about the green wrasse. Going back to my web site and reviewing this tread I see the many mistakes were made. I have had fresh water for years but this was my first saltwater. Below are 2 links to answer a couple of questions posted

This is the 100 gallon history. (it is only a fish only tank)

This was most of the fish I had as of a week ago, not all of them.

I think a fish from a big retail store was the trigger that started this, maybe the Sailfin. So I will leave the Coppersafe in the tank with Puffer having domian over it, if he makes it.

    The mistakes I see are:
    1. too many fish in a short time range
    2. No QT tank which I am picking today.
    3. Let nature to its thing and not try to fix water issues too fast.

So I will set up a QT tank today and let it sit for a few days and then introduce Bio Sprie when the first fish it in there. QT time will be 6 weeks and one fish at a time. So no new fish in the 100 for 6 weeks.

    Any other suggestions.

The 30 gallon is doing well with the two fish I have. So I leave with the two in the 30 gallon.

Thanks, from this thread I have learned to start over and SLOW down

Well this why a QT tank is a must.

I got Marine Velvet Disease and I did not know it until it was too late. Only Puffer is alive but from what I read, I put in the copper too late.
