So who is giddy as a school girl, waiting for the Profilux upgrade.

It would appear they have left Germany and are scheduled to start shipping you the end user on Thursday.

    Can't wait

I've got one headed my way :) but truth be told, I have an ex expansion card and an SMS unit out in my fish room that I haven't hooke up yet. Unfortunately, my [STRIKE]job[/STRIKE] jobs keep getting in the way of doing the things that I want to do.

I should get the P3 upgrade installed pretty quick because the USB capability will allow me to move the full size computer out of the fish room and rely on my laptop for Profilux programming.

Where did you guys get your systems?

Why did you choose it over the standard controller?

I love the dosing pumps they have.

My LFS became a dealer when I expressed an interest in Profilux (have I mentioned that I've got a great LFS?) and I got it from them. Another option is to order from GHL direct @ GHL Direct - Buy GHL Profilux Controllers Online they are the distributor for North America.

Profilux has a reputation as the Cadillac (they're German so I guess I should say Porsche) of controllers. The Profilux has pretty much limitless expansion capability, and some really cool control capabilities. They also have a strong track record of making their products very upgradable for future developments. Free software for life doesn't hurt either. Jason has used his for longer than I have so he may be able to tell you a bit more.

Sorry I kept meaning to get back to this thread and never had time.

I chose Profilux because I felt for the money it was the best value. It replaced my PH Prob, Light timers, ATO system, heater/chiller controller. A lot of other controllers out there will do this as well but the Profilux was the only one that had the high AMP temp controller for my 1/2HP Chiller.
I have since added the dosing pumps and sold my CA Reator.

So if I did the math on all the used equipment I sold and compared it to the cost of the Profilux it was by far the cheapest solution.

    Plus it Too COOL

Looks like we may just get them Thursday next week. In Canada anyway. Not sure what customs delays you will have in the US.

that's a first. A North American distributor in Canada

I think that the distributor is an ex pat Brit who hasn't been able to get a US visa. I heard that this really frustrates him when the big US shows come around and he can't get into the country to attend.
