To me that looks like GSP - the purple/ pink stuff is the mat and it seems to have been peeled off or rock - if you have it just placed on your rock work, it will secure itself , but if you glue it down firmly it will do better IME

Nope :D and oops, it's a GREEN mandarin. Fishie faux pas.....

He spent a good 10 minutes just staring at a brine shrimp swimming around and then decided to pop it in his mouth. He got so excited he started flashing and went on hunting them :D

This is as good as I could get.

    Sorry I didn't set a scale really.....

Glass is standard juice glass. Flashlight inside of glass, diameter of 1/8" larger than a quarter. These things are smaller than the head of a pin......

I know that they are larval crabs and I believe they are blue leg hermits as I only have one female emerald and one unknown scarlet hermit whereas I have about 7 bluelegs roaming around and two the size of quarters.

First pic is the larva, second is who I believe to be mommy and daddy.

It actually holds well. I feed brine as well as the pods that live int he tank. To give you an idea of the population...........

29g, 40lbs LR and this is what I find at midnight feeding time:

These amphipods are an average of 1/4" long......These are some of the adults and there are plenty around to make babies for food for the mandarin. I also have copious amounts of ostracods and copepods.

So it's official. Moving out of our current house by Oct. 15 (lease is up and house being sold instead of lease extension) so the tank will be as is for a little while. No new additions to unnecessarily stress out before a big move. Hoping to stumble upon a larger tankin the mean time......heck, I'll just set the new tank up at the new place before we even walk out the door here!! That would be great.

I definitely have the feeling that my LFS is going to be really important for my first move as I can get livestock coolers etc from them no problem. I don't want to break my tank down :(

So this morning I turned the skimmer back on. Whatever makes it, makes it :) Lets hope some of these little guys pull through. I think I want to get a small in tank hatchery just to see if I can rear any in the future.
