    hahaha! I seriously am overloaded. oh well;D

    I am still considering the upgrade. But if I do I am changing the entire scape. All new dry rock treated with lanthanum chloride, and then using mortar to make a crazy gravity defying minimal bonsai scape.

    Out of curiosity, what is the purpose of the lanthanum chloride??

    It removes the phosphates from the dry rock. A lot of the dry rock available is pest free, but contains a lot of dead organic matter in them. They are known to leach phosphates for up to 6 months. And many people fight GHA because of this.

    I must have for lucky I used all dry rock and have never had green hair algae. Good to know though I might keep that I mind for my next build

    I think it depends on what kind of rock and how much. I have had some friends get dry rock from the same place and some leached phosphates on a high level and some only a little bit. Obviously the rock is different is never going to contain the same amount of organics, but I'm definitely not going to chance it.
