Tomini tangs are smaller tangs. One would be very happy in a 4 foot 120g. You could easily have at least 1 more bigger fish in a 120g.

I know of a guy with several big fish, including a 8" hepatus tang, and a 6+ inch melanurus wrasse in his 120. he also has a big yellow tang, a nice sized copper band B fly and several smaller fish in that same tank. Granted he has a 60g sump, and a 75g growout tank on that same system....

I upgraded from a 65 gal to the 120 gal and all too quickly I regreted not getting a 6' tank. Think about this for a while. I ended up getting a 210 gal and only because they had no 180 gal tanks and I figured what the heck! I think a 180 is the way to go. My 210 is 29" high which is great for viewing and a 72x24 frame. The 180 is 72x24x24 and is easier to reach the bottom. I can't reach the sand with my hand in my 210. It's all about personal taste and finances. Here are pictures of the 3 tanks. Good luck!:)

I agree, if you could swing a 180, then go that way. Cost wise, a 180 should not be much more than a 125, as far as equipment and maintenance. There might be an initial cost difference, but IMHO, the 180 is a very nice tank size.

Now if AGA made a 72" x 30 deep x 24 tall, that would be the perfect tank that you can readily buy.

I love the 180... for me it's perfect. People I see using those grabber things to pick up things on the bottom... that's would drive me nuts. If I could afford a dream giant tank I would want it long not deep. :)
