Protecting Coral Reefs with a CHEETO

The seahorse-shaped cheeto is not quite the Virgin Mary grilled cheese sandwich that sold on eBay for $28,000 in 2004, but all the money you spend on this odd cheeto will be donated to the non-profit Reef Relief dedicated to the protection of coral reefs. If that doesn't sway you to jump in on the last day of bidding, perhaps the free shipping will.

Richard Schmidt, of the Eastern Shore of Virginia, was vacationing in the Keys with his wife when she pulled the unusually shaped item from her bag of Cheetos. “I grabbed for it to eat but she snatched it away and locked it in her jewelry box of all places!” he wrote in an email. “When I told her a few weeks ago that a chicken nugget that looked like George Washington sold on eBay for $8,100 in support of a charity I told her to get that Cheeto out let's take some pictures and see if it can do some good too.”

lol i thought we were mass group ordering cheatos with the proceeds going to charity....lmfao no idea why but thats totally what i thought when i saw it on the front page.

 

i take my boy to the keys every winter and we travel through diff sanctuaries and donate at each. Good looking cheetah though, hope it sells high. unfortuanelty my money is going to keys preservation while I'm there visiting.

 

Group buy on cheetos - now that's funny! And kind of brilliant for the charity angle.

My gosh - it's up to $100 for this cheeto now! They might protect some reefs after all!
